Tom Burdick, CFP®, ChFC, CLU

President, LPL Financial Advisor

“I’m proud to be able to offer comprehensive financial planning services to individuals and businesses in our community. I’m equally proud to offer an exceptional independent platform to the financial advisors who represent Empire Financial Advisors.”

Tom works with his clients to identify and prioritize their financial goals and offer guidance and strategies specific to their individual needs. He focuses his practice on wealth accumulation and preservation, retirement planning and estate distribution. Tom also designs and implements 401(k) and other qualified retirement plans for businesses in New York’s Capital Region.

His 30+ years of experience are available not only to his clients, but also to the advisors at Empire Financial Advisors to help them build and grow their own practices.

He first worked at an independent financial services firm that offered a wide variety of financial products and services, but offered little to no training and support for practice growth and guidance. He then worked for another financial services firm that offered extensive training but had a very narrow product offering. He co-founded Empire Financial Advisors to give advisors the best of both worlds.

Tom is a member of the Million Dollar Round Table, an organization of the world's leading financial service and insurance professionals. He is also a member of the Financial Planning Association and its local chapter, the FPA of Northeastern NY. He earned his CFP® designation from the CFP Board of Standards in 1996 and earned his CLU® (Chartered Life Underwriter, the designation of insurance expertise) and ChFC® (Chartered Financial Consultant) through The American College.

Tom earned a bachelor’s degree in industrial and labor relations at the State University of New York at Potsdam. A current member and past president of the Delmar Rotary, Tom is a current board member of the Delmar Rotary Foundation. He also serves as president of Gift of Life, a non-profit organization that sponsors children from third-world countries with congenital heart defects for life-saving surgeries at Albany Medical Center.
