“I analyze a family’s entire financial picture, then educate, then plan. It’s important for my clients to understand how all of their finances are linked together.”
Pierce believes in looking at the whole picture before creating a financial strategy. Not just investments. Not just insurance coverage. Not just home mortgages. He says all of these important items—and more—must be considered together to implement a comprehensive financial plan.
He says looking at investments without understanding the entire family budget is shortsighted. After all, what good is a 10% pre-tax investment return when there is credit card debt that costs the family 12% in after-tax dollars?
His expertise is in income and estate tax planning; asset preservation; wealth management; retirement and income distribution management; multi-generational planning; succession and exit planning for business owners; and college planning.
Pierce says being an independent representative means he has access to the country’s leading investment and insurance managers and products with no single provider limiting his access or his clients’ options. He believes it’s this “open architecture” that gives his clients an edge when it comes to financial planning.
His college funding and retirement planning seminars are attended by people from all over the Capital District. He has been featured on TV channel My4 with Paul Vandenburg and has been a guest speaker for radio programs on Talk 1300 and Magic 590.
Pierce and his family live in Guilderland, New York, where he coaches softball and baseball. He currently sits on the board of the DC Devil Cats baseball organization. He says before his children began playing travel softball and baseball, he was a good golfer. He looks forward to the day when he can pick up his golf game again and get away for a weekend that doesn’t include packing baseball gear.
